Keys and Combinations

I’ve already said in previous posts that I don’t like using a combination lock, unless my KH has the combination – and I dont.

Therefore I like to have a proper brass lock with key. I can leave the key at home whilst I go to work. The only temptation I have to take the device off is to get in the car. Difficult to do whilst at work in a meeting.

Unfortunately this morning the lock which came with the device stopped working. I thought it was a little dodgy right from the start, however I have been perserviering.

Today though, I didn’t want to risk putting a lock on and it being broken – so I went to Millets on the way to work and bought a suitcase lock for £4.99. Unfortunately they only come in pairs, but there are multiple keys.

I have changed the lock from the combination lock to the padlock and have the device on now (at work again). I have left the keys in the glove compartment of the car. There they will remain until I leave work this afternoon.

Unfortunately they came with 3 keys. I want to put one on my partners keyring, but I don’t know where to put the other ones? Where can I put them so that

1. I cannot use them
2. In the case of emmergency they are available.

JUST HAD AN IDEA….

We hotdesk at work, however they will give you drawers to put stuff in. I could put the keys in the work desk, lock it, and leave that key at home. Therefore I would never be able to unlock the device without going between two separate locations. Something you certainly cannot do during a weekend!
